The Sooke School District is funded by the provincial government. The Board of Education manages and allocates funding based on local spending priorities. We are currently developing our 2023-24 budget and we are looking for the public’s thoughts on what priorities should be funded next year.
Through engagement with our partner groups (Canadian Union of Public Employees, Sooke Parent’s Advisory Council, Sooke Teacher’s Association and SD62 Leadership) three potential areas were identified:
- Early learning
- Diversity, equity and inclusion
- Growth
