Graduating Soon or Need Your Transcripts? Here’s How to Get Them in British Columbia

Date

If you're graduating this June or need a copy of your high school transcript in British Columbia, it's important to know that these documents are not issued by your school or district. Instead, they must be ordered through the provincial government using the StudentTranscripts Service (STS): Order Transcripts & Certificates: Former Student - Province of British Columbia

📌 What You’ll Need Before Ordering

To access your transcripts or certificates, ensure you have the following:

  • Personal Education Number (PEN): A unique nine-digit number assigned to you when you entered the B.C. education system.

  • Basic BCeID Account: An online ID that enables secure access to B.C. government services.

  • Valid Email Address

  • Date of Birth and Legal Name:

🔍 How to Find Your Personal Education Number (PEN)

If you don't have your PEN:

  • Current Students: Check your report card or contact your school's main office.

  • Former Students: Contact your last secondary school office.

Your PEN may also be found on official documents like transcripts and report cards.

📅 Plan Ahead: Summer Office Closures

Secondary school offices are closed during the summer months. If you need assistance retrieving your PEN or have other inquiries, it's advisable to complete these steps before the end of June. If you require your PEN during the summer break, you may request it through the school district office; however, please note that this process may take longer due to limited staffing and office closures.
