As major thoroughfares have been plowed and we are seeing improving conditions on many side streets from earlier this morning, we are looking forward to seeing your children for their regularly scheduled afternoon at our schools. If you would like to send your children to school today, there will be lunchtime supervision and classes will resume at their usual start time after their lunch bell. Please send your children in or with appropriate outerwear for the snowy conditions.
If you decide to keep your child home for the entire day, we support and respect your decision. Please follow the regular absence protocol for your child’s school to let them know.
Our bus routes will be doing the afternoon run (pickup from school to their regular drop-off location). Please note that our buses drive for road conditions, and may experience delays if road conditions are poor or traffic is congested. The cancellation for Route 28 today is still in effect (families were notified yesterday). The Port Renfrew route will also be cancelled today.
We would like to thank our Facilities team who have been working hard at schools and sites across the district to clear snow from parking lots and walkways. With fluctuating temperatures, please be mindful of slippery conditions across our region when walking, cycling or driving today.
